Wi-Fi 6E (IEEE 802.11ax standard) means multi-gigabit speeds and reliable operational continuity. The LANCOM LX-6500 unlocks the newly released, interference-free 6 GHz frequency band for your network. It can therefore integrate not only clients in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands, but also modern devices in the 6 GHz band. Thanks to the improved distribution of clients across the radio spectrum and channels best suited to them, transmission rates of up to 4,800 Mbps in 6 GHz and, simultaneously, up to 2,400 Mbps in 5 GHz and up to 1,150 Mbps in 2.4 GHz are possible. The efficient use of all available WLAN frequency bands ensures consistently reliable and high-performance WLAN operation.

Uninterrupted use of the 6 GHz frequency band for modern and future applications
Take a seat in the VIP lounge on Wi-Fi: The LANCOM LX-6500, by being the first to utilize the 6 GHz frequency band, opens up an exclusive, interference-free Wi-Fi network. Thanks to the additional 480 MHz of radio spectrum, the six extra 80 MHz channels, or the three additional 160 MHz channels, modern high-end devices can operate undisturbed in 6 GHz, relieving the older, congested radio frequencies. As a Wi-Fi 6E access point, the LX-6500 supports channel widths of 20, 40, 80 MHz, and 160 MHz with four streams, effectively doubling the previously available Wi-Fi spectrum. This allows business-critical, modern applications such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), 4K and 8K video streaming, as well as cloud and collaboration tools, to perform optimally with low latency.

Make the most of your available bandwidth and minimize wireless latency: Thanks to Wi-Fi 6E, the powerful Multi-User MIMO (MU-MIMO) technology can be used in both the downlink and uplink. The LANCOM LX-6500 distributes its available spatial streams to multiple different clients simultaneously, instead of serving them sequentially as before. This results in smoother and more reliable performance for high-bandwidth applications.

Carpooling in the radio field – OFDMA for more efficient data traffic
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) also aims to optimize the use of the radio field: The frequency range of a WLAN channel is divided into several frequency blocks within a unit of time, thus creating sub-channels (sub-carriers) with a narrow channel width of up to 2 MHz. This prevents small data packets, which often originate from IoT devices, from occupying and blocking an entire channel with a width of 20, 40, or even 80 MHz. In addition, the LX-6500 bundles several sub-channels and transports them together, similar to a carpool, to enable the smoothest possible radio communication.

Flexible operation via cloud, web configuration or WLAN controller
Choose freely between operation via the LANCOM Management Cloud, WEBconfig, or a WLAN controller! In cloud operation, the LANCOM LX-6500 becomes part of a user-friendly, comprehensive, and automated network orchestration. Even in stand-alone operation, the LX-6500 offers quick configuration and comprehensive management & monitoring thanks to the intuitive and clearly structured web interface of the new WEBconfig. Alternatively, centralized management via a WLAN controller is also available.

Longer battery life for clients with TWT
Wi-Fi 6E counteracts the power-consuming constant readiness of clients such as smartphones, tablets, or notebooks with Target Wake Time (TWT): The access point and client now negotiate precisely when the receiver will wake up to receive data packets, instead of assuming that the devices are always ready to receive. This significantly reduces power consumption on the client side.

Flexible power supply via PoE or power adapter
The LANCOM LX-6500 can be flexibly powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) according to IEEE 802.3bt from any PoE-powered Ethernet port. For optimal operation, a suitable PoE switch (4PPoE, PoE++) is ideally used. Alternatively, the access point can be powered via the optional power adapter.

Support for Bluetooth Low Energy (5.1) and USB 3.0 opens up numerous possibilities for communicating with modern Wi-Fi sensors in devices or objects and for using innovative applications such as asset tracking. This allows you to easily operate digital signage solutions, electronic shelf labels, and other ePaper applications via the optional LANCOM Wireless ePaper USB.
