The new XANTO S is the result of the consistent further development of proven ONLINE UPS concepts. This premium-class UPS protects servers, switchgear, IT equipment, and sensitive applications from power outages and data loss.

XANTO“s permanent-conversion technology completely isolates connected devices from the power grid. This means that even extreme voltage fluctuations, spikes, and harmonics cannot damage the connected equipment. In the event of a power outage, a smooth, guaranteed uninterrupted transition occurs. XANTO“s standout innovation is its pioneering DYNAMIC POWER TECHNOLOGY (DPT). This dynamically adjusts the UPS“s output power to the connected devices, increasing the active power (watts) up to its rated value (watts = VA) as needed. This provides more power than conventional UPS systems. Furthermore, the new XANTO offers more than twice the backup time of its predecessor. Another advantage is the low operating costs thanks to its efficiency of up to 97%.

FLEXIBLE INSTALLATION
The innovative XANTO device class offers limitless customization options: XANTO is available either as a classic tower or in a rack-tower combination design with a height of only 2U. The rack-tower combination design allows for flexible installation, especially after relocation or system expansion. For this, the UPS display is easily adjusted for horizontal mounting without tools, and the included 19“ brackets are installed.

SOFTWARELESS LOAD SHUTDOWN
With the switchable output sockets, all XANTO models allow even devices without an interface or software to be automatically switched off. This reduces the load on the XANTO when running on battery power and extends the backup time for the remaining critical devices.

SCALABLE BRIDGE TIME
With external battery packs, XANTO can tailor the backup time precisely to your specific requirements. This means that even shutting down large networks or backing up extensive data sets no longer poses a security risk.
Following a comprehensive redesign of the UPS“s internal charger, up to seven additional battery packs can now be retrofitted to a XANTO (from model 1000 onwards). This allows, for example, the XANTO 1000 to achieve a typical runtime of over 650 minutes. This is more than double that of the previous model.

BATTERY DEEP CHARGING PROTECTION
+ COLD START FUNCTION
New to XANTO is the battery“s deep discharge protection function. It can be activated and configured either directly via the UPS menu or using the DataWatch software. The deep discharge protection shuts down the UPS before the battery suffers irreparable damage. With XANTO“s additional cold start function, the UPS can be started directly from the battery without mains power. This is very popular when using the UPS as an emergency power generator.

Flexible: SNMP adapter and DataWatch software

The optional SNMP adapter is the professional solution for multi-server shutdown and remote UPS administration, thanks to its powerful 32-bit RISC processor.
The SNMP adapter supports all known functions, such as automatic data backup with the closing of running applications and an orderly shutdown of the entire system. Furthermore, a comprehensive messaging system, freely programmable routines, scheduled tests, and event logging are standard features.

The “professional” version (item no. DW5SNMP30) can also have a temperature or temperature/humidity sensor directly connected.

The XANTO series comes standard with DataWatch software. It communicates continuously with the XANTO via RS-232 or USB interface and monitors all processes. DataWatch runs in the background and is a comprehensive software solution for shutting down and managing the PC or server system, as well as monitoring the XANTO and the power supply network.

The RCCMD software agent is recommended for shutting down multiple servers connected to a UPS. It operates in an event-driven manner, thus reducing unnecessary network traffic.

All communication operates across different operating systems.

For communication with IBM AS400 servers or integration into industrial switchgear, XANTO can be supplemented with an optional AS400/relay card. Its terminal block offers potential-free signaling contacts (via relays) for the following functions: normal operation, battery operation, low battery voltage, bypass operation, standby operation, and collective fault. An additional input contact enables remote UPS shutdown.
