APC Smart-UPS

Stay online at all times and prevent data loss
As soon as the power goes out, an APC Smart-UPS immediately provides emergency power to all connected devices. Because this happens automatically with an APC UPS, you prevent unwanted downtime of, for example, PCs, servers, or switches. With the free APC PowerChute software, you can even have critical IT hardware automatically and safely shut down when the UPS battery is nearly depleted. This prevents data loss, downtime, and physical damage to the hardware.

Extend the term
By connecting external battery packs (SMX48RMBP2U), you can easily increase the number of minutes that the APC SMX UPS can provide stand-alone emergency power.
It is even possible to have a runtime of several hours.

Security
Furthermore, a Smart-UPS protects connected devices from voltage spikes caused by lightning strikes, among other things. This APC emergency power supply is ideally suited for use in (small) businesses.

Network Management Card
When you connect the UPS directly to your network via the optional APC Network Management Card (AP9640/AP9641), it can be easily managed remotely via SNMP or our Ecostruxure IT Expert remote management software (SFTWES1-DIGI). You can also automatically send a shutdown signal over the network to multiple physical and/or virtual servers. Using the APC PowerChute Network Shutdown software connected to the network card, you can even differentiate between shutdowns based on the time and order in which they occur.

Rack/Tower convertible
The APC Smart-UPS SMX is rack/tower convertible. Since both the feet and rack mounts for the front uprights are included, you can mount it in a rack (2U) or stand it upright. If you prefer to mount it to all four uprights of the rack, order the optional SU032A.

Extend the lifespan
The internal battery cartridge (APCRBC116) can be easily, safely, and independently replaced by the user. This can be done without having to turn off the APC SMX1000I or connected devices. In this way, you can easily and cost-effectively extend the lifespan of your APC Smart-UPS and keep your devices constantly online.

Warranty extension
The SMX1000I comes with a 3-year manufacturer“s warranty, except for the battery, which has a 2-year warranty. Both the battery and battery warranties can be extended by 3 years to 6 and 5 years respectively with the APC Service Pack (WBEXTWAR3YR-SP-02).

Switched socket groups: Remote restart and gradual start
Thanks to Switched Outlet Groups, it is possible to configure phased/delayed power-on for each UPS output group. This reduces the peak load on the UPS and brings it closer to the constant load, thus limiting UPS oversizing.

It is also possible to reset a group of multiple UPS outputs and the devices connected to them. When using a network card (ap9640) in combination with Ecostruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI), this is even possible remotely.

You also cannot eliminate critical loads; this will only extend the runtime of critical equipment.
