As soon as the power goes out, an APC Smart-UPS immediately provides backup power to all connected devices. Because this happens automatically with an APC UPS, you can prevent unwanted outages of a PC, server, or switch, for example. With the free APC PowerChute software, you can even automatically and controlledly shut down critical IT hardware when the UPS battery is almost empty. This prevents data loss, downtime, and physical damage to the hardware.

Security
In addition, a Smart-UPS protects connected devices from voltage spikes caused by lightning, among other things. This APC emergency power supply is ideal for use in (small) businesses.

You can easily see the expected battery life in the runtime chart located between the product images. You can easily see how long the UPS will provide backup power at a given load.

SmartConnect
Out-of-the-box remote UPS monitoring, free for a 6-month trial. Using the SmartConnect Ethernet port, you can easily connect the Smart-UPS to your network and monitor it remotely via the secure cloud-based APC SmartConnect web portal.* Additionally, the UPS can be monitored at any time via this port using EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI).

PowerChute
By connecting the UPS to a maximum of one server via a USB cable, it can automatically send a shutdown signal to the server in the event of a prolonged power outage, thus preventing a hard shutdown. This precise time can be set using the free APC PowerChute Serial Edition software.

Network management card
By connecting the UPS directly to your network using the optional APC Network Management Card (AP9640/AP9641), it can be easily managed remotely via SNMP or our Ecostruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI) remote management software. You can also automatically send a shutdown signal over the network to multiple physical and/or virtual servers. Using the APC PowerChute Network Shutdown software connected to the network card, you can even differentiate between them based on the time and order of shutdown.

User-friendliness
Physical buttons and an LCD screen allow you to set and read the basic functions.

Extend the lifespan
The internal battery cartridge (RBC6) can be easily, safely, and independently replaced by the user without having to turn off the APC SMT1000IC or connected devices. This allows you to easily and cost-effectively extend the lifespan of the APC Smart-UPS and keep your devices online.

Warranty extension
The SMT1000IC comes with a 3-year manufacturer“s warranty, except for the battery, which has a 2-year manufacturer“s warranty. Both are extended by 3 years, to 6 and 5 years, respectively, with the APC Service Pack (WBEXTWAR3YR-SP-02).

Switched socket groups: remote restart and step-by-step start
Thanks to Switched Outlet Groups, it is possible to configure phased/delayed startup for each UPS outlet group. This reduces the UPS“s peak load and brings it closer to the constant load, thus limiting UPS oversizing.

It“s also possible to reset a group of multiple UPS outlets and the devices connected to them. This is even possible remotely when using SmartConnect Advanced (ERWPLUS1-1Y-DIGI), a UPS with a SmartConnect port + Ecostruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI), or a network card (ap9640) in combination with Ecostruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI).
