The Scanner Central Admin software allows users to set up, distribute, manage, and maintain profiles and scan workflows for Fujitsu fi series scanners from a central location. This reduces downtime for all scanners used on the company network.

Improved handling of mixed document stacks - continuous, uninterrupted scanning
The exceptional paper feed is a standout feature of these scanners, allowing them to easily scan stacks of mixed documents with paper weights ranging from 27 to 413 g/m². To protect the original document, a paper protection mechanism monitors the movement of each individual document and automatically stops the feed as soon as any irregularities are detected.

When scanning documents of varying sizes, shapes, surface textures, and paper weights that are grouped together in a single set, the skew correction mechanism assists in processing skewed documents and prevents skew from affecting subsequent documents. This ensures that each document is captured with the highest precision and ease, and that no documents are creased or damaged.

Both scanner models also feature an ultrasonic sensor that detects when two or more sheets are fed in simultaneously. The intelligent multi-feed function allows users to set scan parameters that control the sensors, for example, to recognize and ignore attached sticky notes or photos, thus intentionally avoiding interruptions to the scanning process.

PaperStream IP, compliant with industry standards TWAIN and ISIS, features portrait-oriented image processing as standard, which automatically includes functions such as noise reduction, background removal, and character-by-character contrast enhancement to produce exceptionally clear, high-quality images suitable for direct import into the user“s workflow.

PaperStream IP has an intuitive and easy-to-use user interface that can be switched to administrator or user mode to simplify the scanning process and minimize user errors.

In addition, PaperStream IP also introduces a new Assisted Scanning mode, which allows the user to visually select the best quality image from image variants displayed on the monitor, instead of having to manually fine-tune the scan parameters for each image.

PaperStream Capture – Advanced Capture
PaperStream Capture is a user-friendly capture solution that allows users to easily create scan routines. These routines include all the settings and configurations necessary to control the scanning process, from scanning to releasing the image into the user“s or company“s defined workflow.

Once created, scan routines can be executed with a single click, and the most frequently used profiles can even be linked to the scan button on the control panel of the fi-7140 and fi-7240 scanners to further optimize the entire capture process.
