Clear Image Capture
Clear Image Capture is a groundbreaking, proprietary innovation debuting in the fi-8000 Series. True image reproduction and the elimination of color shifts promise industry-leading OCR accuracy and image quality that surpasses the capabilities of standard Contact Image Sensors (CIS) or Charge Coupled Devices (CCDs). As a more efficient technology, it also reduces power consumption per scan. Clear Image Capture enables the capture of a wide range of document types from 20 g/m² to 465 g/m² – including A4 envelopes, cards, passports, and brochures up to seven millimeters thick.

Automatic Separation Control
Our patented Automatic Separation Control ensures perfect document feeding and guarantees that businesses can reliably digitize even large quantities and mixed document stacks. By detecting the weight of the documents and automatically adjusting the torque, misfeeds and interruptions are prevented. The result is consistent feeding of different document formats, saving users the time-consuming task of sorting various document types into separate stacks. Furthermore, the 100-sheet ADF capacity and the increased scanning speed enable efficient, high-throughput teamwork.

Industry-leading paper protection
The fi-8000 Series protects documents from damage with innovative technology. Patented image monitoring identifies excessively skewed documents in real time and stops the scanning process before they can be damaged. Intelligent Sonic Paper Protection (except fi-8150 and fi-8250 models) reacts similarly as soon as the technology detects abnormal feed noises. Lag Detection, on the other hand, ensures that documents are fed at the calculated speed.

Special recording of passport documents
The patented insertion mechanism ensures the secure capture of passports without a backing sheet†, while the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) detection ensures consistently accurate capture of personal data.

Unparalleled productivity

Improved multi-feed detection
To avoid unnecessary interruptions to the scanning process, cards, stickers, and small, defined attachments are automatically detected and, if necessary, ignored. This patented technology is an advancement of the standard multi-feed detection, which stops when anything other than a single sheet is detected during feeding.

High speed, high throughput
The fi-8000 Series offers a highly efficient scanning process for maximum productivity in workgroups, with a short start-up time and a duplex speed of up to 90 pages per minute. Integrated USB 3.2 and Gigabit LAN connectivity also enable fast file transfer.

Overscan Control*
This technology automatically adjusts the scan area to prevent image loss when documents are fed in at an angle, eliminating the need for rescanning. Three sensors detect the document edges and adjust the scan area accordingly, even if the document is inserted at an angle. Users can be confident that the entire document is scanned every time, with no part of the image lost. *Excludes fi-8150 and fi-8250 models.

Urethane rollers
Unlike ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber rollers, urethane rollers are resistant to absorbing oil from No Carbon Required (NCR) paper, which can cause swelling and impair feeding torque. This prevents misfeeds and jams, ensuring consistent feeding performance.

Stacking holder
The ergonomic holder neatly places scanned documents, thus enabling faster and easier filing after scanning.
